Dan Hartles has successfully secured a new job that will see him relocating away from Birmingham in the near future. Dan has announced, therefore, his intention to stand down as DC for Rea Valley. While Dan will continue to support remotely, working closely with his Deputy DCs and ADCs, we’re now launching a search for the next DC for Rea Valley District and would like to appoint Dan’s successor with effect from the end of Rea Away 2018 which is being held in early July.

Abigail McMillan has kindly agreed to lead this on behalf of the District. Abigail and a small search team will be looking for people to apply directly or to nominate anybody who they think will be a good fit with the role by the end of May. The intention is to appoint the successful candidate into the role by the end of June, with a formal handover taking place at the end of Rea Away 2018. 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dan for his contribution to the development of the District over the last four years, delivering exciting vibrant activities and development opportunities to over 1,000 young people in South and South West Birmingham.
