Every Poppy Counts

Saturday 7th November would normally see the County observe two minutes silence at 11.00am in Cannon Hill Park. This year, we have pre-filmed the service to help bring the County together virtually as we cannot be together in such large numbers.

The Video will be made available on the County YouTube channel just before 11.00am on Saturday 7th November, and will remain on the platform to allow all groups to use the service at their own convenience.

Our Youth Commissioner Team are facilitating some activities for the young people around the County to take part in, these will be outlined in a second video and resources available on the County website.

We are also encouraging young people to take part in the Royal British Legion’s  Every Poppy Counts appeal, where you are able to print a poppy to colour in and display in your window with pride and maybe even make a donation to the Royal British Legion. Perhaps as a section you could see how many poppies your young people can spot in their local area.

We hope that this very different type service will be beneficial to groups across Birmingham in marking this important time of the year.
