Following the success of our SWAP event last year, we are looking for a team to plan this years event.
How do you want to plan your own camp?
Want to develop your leadership skills?
Gain confidence in planning and running events
We are looking for adults, explorers and young leaders to join the organising team to plan an event like no other.
What is SWAP?
SWAP (Scouts With Ambitious Plans) is an event planned, organised and ran entirely by explorers and young leaders with the support of experienced adult leaders.
You choose the venue, you choose the activities, you choose the food…
Whether you have planned activities and events before or if this is your first experience in planning activities, we will help you through it, teach you the skills and answer any questions.
How about previous events?
The first SWAP event happened in October 2017. The event was planned by a team of 8 explorers who did a fantastic job and pulled off a hugely successful weekend camp.
Adults
This event cannot run without the support of an adult organising team. If you feel like you would be good at teaching and mentoring explorers and young leaders to plan and run this event or just have experience in planning events and would like to help out then please email us at swap.camp@birminghamscouts.org.uk and we will send you more information.
Explorers and Young Leaders
If you feel like this is the event for you then we’d love to hear from you!
Please email us on swap.camp@birminghamscouts.org.uk and we will send you more information.
ESLs
Please circulate this to your explorers and young leaders. This is a great opportunity for them to gain skills and experience they can bring back to the group in planning and running events and events that takes place throughout the organising process can contribute to Young Leader missions and overall learning for the young leader belt.
If you would like any more information or would like to nominate any body you think would be suitable for the organising team for this event then please contact us on swap.camp@birminghamscouts.org.uk
